Well, here’s another piece of old Nashville we’re about to lose.
According to WKRN, The General Jackson Showboat will officially retire in December after more than 40 years cruising the Cumberland River, with its final voyage scheduled for December 15th. The iconic paddlewheel boat originally launched as part of Opryland USA and stuck around long after the theme park closed in 1997, giving generations of locals and tourists a chance to enjoy dinner, live entertainment and river views.
The reason for its retirement? Ongoing maintenance issues that have affected its schedule.
Damn, Nashville… can we keep some of the old stuff around? Read more from WKRN HERE.
