Today we went back to 1984 and talked about the first ever MTV Video Music Awards Show. You know, back when they were fun to watch (not like the crap they are now)!
The first one was held on September 14th, 1984 in New York and was hosted by Dan Akroyd and Bette Midler. The big winner that night was Herbie Hancock who won 5 awards for “Rockit”. Now, the only band that won that night that fits into this segment was Van Halen, who won an award for Best Stage Performance in a Video for “Jump”. So we heard that today!
