Avenged Sevenfold surprised fans by dropping a brand-new four-song EP called STATICA with absolutely no warning.
According to Loudwire, the release features the tracks “LIGHTS,” “STATICA,” “REJOICE,” and “ASHES,” marking the band’s first collection of new music since 2023’s Life Is But a Dream… (not counting last year’s standalone single, “Magic”). Early reactions describe the EP as even more experimental than their last album, blending heavy riffs with electronic elements, hip-hop-inspired vocals, and the kind of “what did I just listen to?” energy that Avenged Sevenfold has become known for lately.
Basically, if you thought Life Is But a Dream… was weird, Avenged Sevenfold heard you and responded with, “Hold our beer.” Love it or hate it, you’ve got to give them credit…they refuse to make the same record twice, and that’s part of what keeps fans coming back to see what they’ll do next.
