It’s almost that magical time of year when buying school supplies hurts your wallet just a little less.
According to WKRN, Tennessee’s annual tax-free weekend runs Friday, July 31 through Sunday, August 2nd, giving shoppers a break on sales tax for qualifying items like clothing priced at $100 or less per item, school supplies under $100, and computers priced at $1,500 or less. Whether you’re sending kids back to school or just looking for an excuse to buy yourself a new laptop or a few T-shirts, this is one of the few weekends where procrastinating your shopping might actually pay off.
Let’s be honest…none of us are walking into Target for “just school supplies.” You know you’ll leave with notebooks, a hoodie you definitely didn’t need, three candles, and somehow $200 worth of stuff. At least for one weekend, Uncle Sam isn’t taking a cut of some of it. Happy bargain hunting. 😅
