Middle Tennessee, Mother Nature would like to have a word.
If you had outdoor plans this weekend, you might want to keep one eye on the radar. FOX 17 is warning of multiple rounds of heavy rain, torrential downpours, frequent lightning, and the potential for damaging wind gusts through the weekend. The biggest concern isn’t just the storms themselves, but the flooding. With several inches of rain possible and the ground already saturated, flash flooding could develop quickly, especially in low-lying areas and places with poor drainage. Officials are urging everyone to stay weather-aware and never drive through flooded roads.
In other words: maybe don’t trust that “it’s just a little puddle” this weekend. Tennessee roads have a habit of turning into rivers faster than your weather app can refresh. Stay safe, keep an eye on the forecast, and maybe save the backyard BBQ for when the sky isn’t actively trying to drown it.
