Raise your hand if you remember being dropped off at Opryland and hanging out ALL day. Me too!
Whether it was the Wabash Cannonball or Rock N Roller Coaster, everyone had a favorite coaster. Where are some of those rides now? Author and amusement park historian, Jim Futrell knows and he wrote a book about Opryland called “The Opryland Story”.
The Old Mill Scream (which would completely douche bystanders) is now in Washington state as Lumber Jack Falls. Watch video below.
My favorite, the Rock N’ Roller Coaster, is now in upstate New York at Six Flags where it’s been renamed Canyon Blaster.
The Hangman is now outside of San Francisco and lives on as Kong at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom.
The Grizzly River Rampage, known now as Raging Rapids River Ride is now at Kentucky Kingdom in Louisville, Kentucky.
The Barnstormers (which scared the crap out of me), Chaos, Screamin’ Delta Demon and Wabash Cannonball all lived on for a while in Indiana but have since been scrapped.
