As you may know, if you’re ever lucky enough to meet your favorite band or musician, it’s a truly unforgettable moment. Some say to “never meet your idols,” but if you’re a fan of Metallica, then it looks like you have nothing to worry about.
There have been conversations started on Reddit with Metallica fans meeting members of the band, and they seem to be positive for the most part.
There were a ton of responses, including:
“I randomly ran into James [in 2013], almost literally, on the edge of the pit at a Kvelertak show in San Francisco. He was watching the show near the front so I tried not to bug him too much. I went up to him between songs and told him that Metallica changed my life and was the reason I became a musician. He shook my hand and graciously agreed to a quick pic, which I’ve posted in this sub before.”
“Used to run into James and his family semi-frequently when he lived in Novato California always seem like a really nice guy and would take time to talk and take pictures of fans. Personally I did what I always do with celebrities which is kind of give them a head nod and a smile like I know who you are but I’m not going to bother you.”
I met James and Jason back in 97′ after a show. Wish I wasn’t so damn starstruck! Barely said two words to either of them. Got my Justice booklet signed though \m/
I met kirk once in a walmart he was pretty cool and let me take a picture with him.
I met James, nicest guy ever. It was for work and it was a few times. Had to be professional even though deep down I was in fan mode but he was super nice. Literally just a normal guy with a big smile. Really tall lol. You almost forget who he is with how down to earth he was. Also through work, met Kirk in Hawaii. Also same thing as James except he is significantly more reserved. Nice guys!
