Sam Tinnesz dropped his new highly anticipated full length album There Goes The Neighborhood on Friday and already not only Nashville, but the music industry itself is better for it. I’ve been a massive fan of all the single’s Tinnesz has released leading up to the album, and now to hear them all together inside the record takes you on musical journey only Tinnesz could pull off. The record is a personal one according to Tinnesz and you can hear that in the lyrics throughout the album. Life struggles, heartbreak, betrayal, and an overall sense of a coming to grips with life in general all seem to be themes on the record. All too often artists seem focused in 2023 on singles and 10 second clips of songs, so it’s a breath of fresh air to see an artist like Tinnesz dropping a record you can put on and listen to front to back. If he releases this album on vinyl, I’m gonna need a new turntable needle, THAT is for sure.
In an industry where it’s so tempting to jump on trends and write the music that’s popular, we need more artists like Tinnesz. Artists who aren’t afraid to make the music they want to make and are unapologetic for it. We live in the era of songwriters and Sam Tinnesz is one of the good ones.
Now do yourself a favor and turn this one up NOW.
