I’m always stoked to see my favorite bands getting to hit the road, especially when it’s touring together, BUT Have A Rad Day leaving us with a new single to keep us busy while they’re gone was a great surprise. The dudes dropped “Denim Nights” and I feel like it’s having the opposite effect on me because if anything it’s just making me miss them more than I already did. The unique sound of this band is something I can’t ever get enough of. From the second the music kicks in, followed by the never to be confused and unique voice of Thomas Sweat, you know exactly what’s about to happen. Rock N Roll, that’s what. The song lyrically is about hitting the downtown of Nashville (called Broadway for those of you out of towners) and all that can ensue when you go out down there. Sweat and I actually talked about his love of the forbidden area known as Broadway on my show a few months back.
It’s a part of town often looked down upon by locals and rock n rollers, but Sweat likes to have a good time and he doesn’t care where he’s at, he honestly brings the party with him. Have A Rad Day is currently on tour and bringing the party all over the country with the one and only Bass Drum of Death. Catch them live if you can but if you can’t do the next best thing and turn this one up NOW.
