Hard to believe Moaning‘s second album Uneasy Laughter is about to turn 3 years old. I saw the band posting about a show they’re playing in LA on April 6th to celebrate, and it got me in the mood to put this record on front to back again. I was a massive fan of their first album in 2018, and to me “Uneasy Laughter” was a masterfully perfected sequel to it. You could feel the band at a performing and writing high from the first song to the very last. I remember going to Grimey’s the day Uneasy Laughter dropped and buying a copy with the hopes of giving the boys a push on their release day, and I recall being the only person in the store that day, for obvious reasons. This album took Moaning to another level, and even though they couldn’t tour on it, and it never got the proper push it should have, I still stand by saying it’s one of the best records to come out in the last 20 years. I hope the boys hit the road again soon and come back to Nashville because I’ll be there front row singing every single word to this insanely rad record. Below is my fav track of Uneasy Laughter called “What Separates Us” and I suggest you do yourself a favor and turn this one up NOW.
