To say Ryan Adams is working hard in 2022 would be the understatement of the year. On Friday, Adams released his 3rd album this year and it’s only July. FM dropped exclusively to his PAX AM store, with the single “I Want You” streaming worldwide on all platforms. The entire FM album will be available on all platforms starting August 19th. As someone who has been following Adams’ career since 1999, this is by far one of my favorite albums he has put out to date. One would think that putting out 3 records in an year, there would be a lot of room for filler but there is absolutely none of that on FM. This album is a throwback to all the things we’ve always loved about Adams in a way that is somehow made new. Listening to this album draws me back to the way it felt in 2005 when Adams would put out tons of records a year and he followed no one else’s rules but his own. I’ve often talked on my radio show about how Adams invented an entire genre of music and you hear the influence in countless artists today. It’s safe to say that with FM, Ryan Adams is back and its once again his world, we’re just lucky enough to live in it.
