The Winter Olympics are in full effect which always bring me to reminisce.
Back in 2013, I was living in New York City and stumbled across a celebration for the Sochi Winter Olympics right in the heart of Times Square. I stood and watched the athletes as they counted down the days before heading to Russia.
I lost my phone during a night out (such a 22-year-old thing of me to do), so I was carrying around my video iPod. I took a few videos and moved on with my life.
Fast forward to early 2014, I was living back in Wisconsin and warming up my car in the below zero temps. As I waited for the car to heat up, I scrolled through Facebook and came across this Visa ad for the Olympics (linked below). It was my face.
Tell me, what are the odds of finding someone you know in a Visa ad – let alone finding yourself in one? If you’re looking for me to make it even wilder of story, hold tight.
Remember those videos I took on my video iPod? If you look closely, you can see it pointed in the direction of the camera. Somehow, I was filming this moment and have the exact time the photographer kneeled down to take this pic. I wish I could show you but video iPods are now considered prehistoric, so you’ll just have to take my word for it.
I’m still hoping for a royalty check of some sort – fingers crossed.
