Careful, Middle TN. With the heavy rainfall early this morning, many roads are flooded including Houston, Humphreys, Dickson, and Hickman Counties.
FOX 17 says,
The Tennessee Emergency Management Agency has issued a State of Emergency for flooding. There have been many water rescues and homes flooded. No injuries have been reported.
FOX 17 CODE RED Chief Meteorologist reports 8-10″ of rain has fallen so far with some areas seeing closer to a foot of rainfall. A Flash Flood Emergency has been extended for Dickson, Hickman, Humphreys and Houston counties until 3 p.m.
Three shelters are currently open or opening in Dickson, Hickman, and Humphreys counties.
The Tennessee Valley Authority says their rain gauge network recorded 14.5 inches at McEwen.
More showers and storms are expected this afternoon and evening which could add to issues in these areas.
