Mike D. posted via the Beastie Boys official Instagram today honoring the late Biz Markie who passed away last night at the age 57. The Beastie Boys and Biz Markie had been friends and collaborators going back to the 1980s and Biz Markie frequently toured as the Beastie Boys opener. The post contains some stories of their time on the road together, including a show where the power went out during Biz Markie’s opening DJ set so he proceeded to beatbox to keep the show going.
