For many artists, getting inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is a great honor and just being nominated can be enough to substantiate your career as a legend in the industry.
But for Corey Taylor and Slipknot that’s not the case. Eligible for a nomination next year, Slipknot would rather not: “First of all, I don’t care about that Hall, ‘cause I think it’s a pile of garbage,” said Taylor after being asked about the possibility of the nod. He continued…“They don’t honor anything except pop music, really, and they only really induct real rock bands when they have to cave to pressure.”
Iron Maiden and Rage against The Machine were among a handful of rock acts left out of the hall this year along with other rock legends who’ve been snubbed in the past.
“I’d be like, ‘Your Hall is a sham. I don’t care if I’m a part of it or not. You have no idea what the spirit of rock and roll is actually about. So take this and shove it up your you-know-what.”
When the rock hall announces their 2022 nominees don’t expect Slipknot to be on the list or to accept any nomination.
