My Saturday night ritual of filling you in on the 5 songs that have rocked me all weekend long as I invite you to rock along with me.

My Little Viking- “Haunted”
Nate Hoffner is the one man band behind one of my new favorite bands, My Little Viking. His latest single, “Haunted” has been stuck in my head all weekend long. The way it kicks in with the driving drums and guitar, the melody, the lyrics to the song, all of it. I’m such a fan of artists who can do it all on their own and that’s exactly what Hoffner does with this project. Alright shows, it’s time to come back so I can see this dude rock this LIVE.
Evanescence- “Broken Pieces Shine”
It’s crazy to think 9 years ago I was on tour opening for Evanescence. They were arguably the nicest band I’ve ever had the honor of being on the road with and I remember thinking back then, WHAT is this band going to do next? Well here we are in 2021 and the band is bigger and better than ever. Their latest album “The Bitter Truth” finds the band in an entirely new world and music industry given the events of last year, but they haven’t lost a beat and they have come out stronger than ever it seems. It’s great to watch your favorite artists continue to push boundaries and develop on their own terms, and this new record is a testament to that.
Violet Moons- “Hex A Man”
There’s something so refreshing when a brand new band comes along with a cool new sound all their own, it renews my love of music and gets me stoked beyond words. Violent Moons put out “Hex A Man” on Friday and I’ve been listening to it ever since. This duo started randomly playing together when they were stuck inside as roommates last year and the result is something special. We can’t say everything was bad about last year if music like this is coming out of it. This is one of those songs you’re going to want to listen to a few times in a row, so sit down and turn this one up LOUD.
Beware Of Darkness- “Millennials”
A few years ago Beware Of Darkness came onto my radar when they released the amazing song “All Who Remain”. I had just lost my grandfather at that time and that song became such a relatable escape for me, so I was STOKED when I saw they had a new song out. “Millennials” catches us up to where the band is now in the best way. I can’t tell from the lyrics if it’s intended to be sympathizing with the age group he sings of, or mocking them. BUT I do know one thing, I love this song. Welcome back Beware Of Darkness.
Dead Sea Empire- “Pulp”
Dead Sea Empire dropped their latest EP, “II” and it’s quickly becoming one of my favorite EP’s of the year. The band has a sound all their own that’s really hard to describe and I love that about it. The song “Pulp” is my favorite track off it and it has so many peaks and valleys. I almost had to pull my car over when I was rocking out to this one, I suggest you do the same, safety first of course. But in all seriousness, this band is onto something, and I think it’s only a matter of time for the world to catch up to where Dead Sea Empire has been this entire time.
