My Saturday night ritual of blasting the 5 songs that have been rocking me all weekend long. Turn them up and rock along with me, LOUD.

BadCulture- “Turning Red”
Ever so often a band comes along with songs that get stuck in my head in the best way. BadCulture are one of those bands. I love their sound, their hooks, the vocals, the drums, all of it. There’s something fresh about this band but raw at the same time. When I listen to “Turning Red”, which has become a staple on my radio show, I can’t wait for that moment when I’m front row singing along to this song at a packed live show. After the year that was 2020, we need a band, and BadCulture is that band.
Transylvania Stud- How The Gods Kill
Andrew Godfrey’s one man project, Transylvania Stud, is by far one of my favorite things about music these last couple years. Godfrey has always had a vision with this project and he’s always seen it through. There are very few artists these days who are fearless in saying exactly what they want to say in the way Godfrey does, and people are taking notice. He’s grown this amazing online fanbase and his songs just seem to get stronger and stronger. We need more artists like Transylvania Stud, many more.
Tonic- To Be Loved
Tonic have been one of my favorite bands for well over 2 decades now. They’re one of those bands who never chased any trends and always just focused on putting out the music they wanted to, and it shows all these years later. Their music is time-less and their sound is all their own. Their latest single, “To Be Loved”, is a true testament to a band following their own path all these years and we’re just lucky enough to follow them along on it.
Briston Maroney- “It’s Still Cool If You Don’t”
There’s something so exciting about an artist who comes along and plays by literally no one else’s rules but their own and very few do it as well as Maroney. His sound is hard to put into any genre and that’s one of the things I love about him. He’s not afraid to write honest and raw music but there’s a pop sensibility hidden inside his songs that make them stand apart from most other artists out there today. His latest single, “It’s Still Cool If You Don’t”, speaks exactly to that. I’m such a fan of this guy and all his does. He’s one of those artists that keeps you guessing what he’s gonna do next, and I have a feeling I’m always gonna dig it.
Phil Solem- “Trying Times”
Phil Solem of The Rembrandts stepping out for his latest solo release, “Trying Times”, is the song we all need in 2021. After watching the past year and being unable to tour with his band, Solem decided to write his feelings down and out came one of my favorite songs of this year thus far. These are without a doubt, trying times, but the irony of Solem’s song is it leaves you feeling with hope, which we all need more of these days.
