My Saturday night call to action for you to turn up the songs I’ve been rocking all week long. Turn them up LOUD, that is.

Eve 6 – “Black Nova”
Eve 6 returns with a RAD new single called “Black Nova” and just like that 2021 is already hands down better than 2020. One thing I’ve always loved about this band is they’ve always seemed to go against whatever critics wanted them to be or do. In a time in music when it’s so easy to label bands into genres with one another, Eve 6 has always had their own spot and their latest single is a true testament to a band who is once again in control of their destiny and we’re just lucky enough to be along for the ride. If this new single is any sign of what’s to come when their EP drops June 25th, I think 2021 is the year of Eve 6 and I will die on this hill.
Flight Attendant- “Dogs”
Flight Attendant dropped a brand new single called “Dogs” Friday and it’s been stuck in my head in the best possible way ever since. I’m such a massive fan of this band. Ever so often a band comes along and creates their own sound and Flight Attendant is one of those bands. With a unique sound, catchy songs, big solid drums, and amazing vocals, this band is a breath of fresh air at a time when we could all use one. “Dogs” is the next chapter in watching one of my favorite bands continue to play music on their own terms and I am here for it.
Cloud Nothings- “Nothing Without You”
I remember a few years back opening up for Cloud Nothings and being instantly taken back by this amazing band. They remind me of everything I love about bands like Trail of the Dead and The Dandy Warhols. A band who isn’t phased by rules or any expectations and their music is straight up honest with an epic live show to go with it. Their latest single, “Nothing Without You” takes me back to the days of discovering a new song and wanting everyone to hear it, THUS, you should click the video below right now.
Jax Hollow- “Drift Together”
Jax Hollow has already made 2021 her year and it’s ONLY February. Her latest single, “Drift Together” shows us another side of Jax. She can shred the guitar and rock like no other, with the huge drums of Angela Lese behind her and that signature voice blasting over it all, but “Drift Together” really showcases her insanely strong songwriting. I’ve said since her first single dropped that Jax is making the music she wants to make and nothing will stand in her way and this song is proof of that. I love the lyric “I’ve been waiting on you, waiting waiting for a long time”. It’s Jax’s world and we’re all just trying to catch up.
Thomas Nicholas Band- “Homelife”
Thomas Nicholas dropped a rad new single called “Homelife” last Friday and it already feels like the anthem of 2021. Nicholas has a songwriting style I’m a massive fan of. He’s toured the world and had one hell of a career already but something about his music always feels like a new artist to me. An artist who has all the wisdom of life on the road but the honesty of saying what he wants to say. His latest single, “Homelife”, showcases that perfectly. When I listen to this song it makes me yearn for live music to come back so I can stand front row and sing along with him. LOUDLY.
