This person bought an old magazine from the 1950’s and found some stellar advice (note sarcasm) for women on how to pick up a dude and husband him up. Was this advice actually legit back then?!
Sure, there are some suggestions that are fairly reasonable, like…
- Get a dog and walk it
- Join a hiking club
- Be nice to everybody
But then there are a lot of really bad ones too…
- Have your car break down in strategic places
- Read the obituaries to find eligible widowers (!!!!!!!!!!!)
- Be friendly to ugly men (Yes, that is actually listed)
- Get lost at football games
- Don’t room with a girl who is a sad sack and let her pull you down to her level (verbatim)
- Get a sunburn (Huh?!)
- Wear a band aid so people will ask what happened
- Go on a diet if you need to
