Evanescence were in Nashville earlier this year working on their follow up to 2017’s “Synthesis”. It was the first time the band has joined forces with producer Nick Raskulinecz since their 2011 self titled record. The album had been planned for a 2020 release, and though the COVID-19 pandemic has made things difficult for artists to reach their fans, the band is determined to not let that get in the way.
We promised you a new album in 2020 and we won’t let anything stop us. We are proud to begin sharing our new album ‘THE BITTER TRUTH’ with you, one piece at a time, starting with our first song “Wasted On You” next FRIDAY!

“Bitter Pill” is the name of the upcoming album and the band are releasing the album one single at a time. The first single, “Wasted On You”, was released on Friday April 24th. The first 50 fans to pre-save the upcoming single, were granted a once in a lifetime opportunity to hang out with Amy Lee via Zoom on Thursday. Fans got to ask Amy questions, talk about their experiences during quarantine, and hear the new single before it was released at midnight.
Since the band can’t all be in the same room due to social distancing regulations, the music video for “Wasted On You” features the band members separately in their homes as they spend time in quarantine. The music video is truly a testament to Evanescence not letting anything keep their new music from their fans.
