What happens when two legendary bassists unite to perform one of the most famous guitar riffs ever? One of them pulls out an accordion.
Nirvana’s Krist Novolelic joined Guns N’ Roses and Velvet Revolver‘sDuff McKagan in Seattle Sunday in celebration McKagan’s new book, How to Be a Man (and Other Illusions). During the event, which included a discussion about the book, the two bassists performed an instrumental version of the GNR classic “Sweet Child o’ Mine” with McKagan on bass and Novoselic on accordion. How to Be a Man is McKagan’s second book following his 2011 memoir, It’s So Easy (and Other Lies). Along with the book, McKagan also released a three-song EP of the same name, featuring contributions from GNR’sIzzy Stradlin, Alice in Chains‘ Jerry Cantrell, and Stone Sour drummer Roy Mayorga.
