Plato is my featured pet for No Tail Left Behind! He’s a 6-year-old Shih Tzu, and he’s warming up to people even after being abandoned by his previous owner. After Operation Education came to his rescue, they learned he had some medical issues that they’re helping him with, and they took him into care just at the right time.
From Plato’s GoFundMe:
Hello, my name is Plato. How do you do?
You say you have troubles? I have a few too.I came into the rescue homeless and scared.
Where it was soon discovered that I need some special care.My foster mom noticed I have trouble breathing.
You see I have an elongated palate and possible everted saccules that need surgery ASAP so I can go to my forever home. This will help me rest at night and not struggle to breathe.
I’m an easy going guy that will love your cats, your dogs and your human children too.
But most of all, if you give me a chance, I’ll love you!!
If you would like to make a difference in the lives of dogs like Plato, please consider donating to Operation Education Animal Rescue. We can’t do this without your generous support, and we would greatly appreciate anything you can give.

It’s pretty heartwarming to know that approximately 3.2 million pets in animal shelters are adopted each year. But unfortunately, nearly 1.5 million animals are euthanized, according to ASPCA, and the biggest reason for this is because of the abundance of animals and lack of available space to keep them any longer, or their “time’s up.” But because of local animal shelters like Operation Education based out of Murfreesboro, we’re teaming up to raise awareness of animals in the area looking for forever homes.
