Last year was a traumatic one for Linkin Park fans, as the band’s frontman Chester Bennington committed suicide on July 20th. Multi-instrumentalist and rapper Mike Shinoda has kept fans in the loop on how he’s doing dealing with the tragedy via social media, and now, Shinoda has issued a statement about the future of Linkin Park.
“I have every intention on continuing with LP, and the guys feel the same,” Shinoda tweeted. “We have a lot of rebuilding to do, and questions to answer, so it’ll take time.” Fans responded everything from, “Best news of 2018 so far,” to “This single sentence made me so happy. Thank you. Thank you.”
In addition to that tweet, Shinoda released a three-song EP, called “Post Traumatic.” The set – which features the songs “Place to Start,” “Over Again” and “Watching As I Fall” – is streaming via MikeShinoda.com. Absent from the EP is the song “Looking for an Answer,” which Shinoda performed for the first time at Linkin Park’s Bennington memorial show last fall.
