Breaking Benjamin are touring in support of their latest studio album, “Dark Before Dawn,” and the Pennsylvania band has unveiled the music video for their current single off the set, “Ashes of Eden.” Singer Benjamin Burnley describes the music video as a “modern sci-fi take on Adam and Eve” in an interview with Billboard.com.
In the clip, two astronauts plummet from their ship “to a water planet where their ashes turn to the building blocks for life as we know it on Earth,” Burnley explained to Billboard. He added, “Billions of years go by and the earth becomes the earth as we know it, and they’ve sort of re-evolved into humans and have found each other again.”
If you’re curious what the lyrics of “Ashes of Eden” mean, Burnley won’t tell you. He wants the listener to get their own, individual meaning from the track.
Breaking Benjamin have more news this summer, as their 2009 album, “Dear Agony,” has been certified platinum. That makes “Dear Agony” the band’s third platinum record. Their other platinum releases include 2006’s “Phobia” and 2004’s “We Are Not Alone.”
The guys of Breaking Benjamin are currently touring with Disturbed. After that trek wraps up, they’ll hit the road with Korn in the fall.
