Tennessee has lost an absolute legend.
According to her official social media platforms, Dolly Parton has died at 80, leaving behind a legacy that reaches far beyond country music. A Tennessee native, songwriter, performer, philanthropist and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Dolly was one of those rare artists who simply belonged to everyone. From “Jolene” to Rockstar, she spent decades proving that her influence knows no genre boundaries.
Nashville (and Tennessee) will never be quite the same without her. Rest in peace, Dolly.
