Bad Wolves have officially introduced Sara “Killboy” Skinner as their new lead vocalist.
This marks the band’s third singer and ushering in a new era with the release of their single, “Paint It Red.” The announcement was intentionally timed with the June Strawberry Moon, whose symbolism of renewal and primal energy aligns with the band’s wolf-themed identity, according to Loudwire.
Drummer and founding member John Boecklin praised Skinner’s vocal range, stage presence, and the fresh creative energy she brings, saying the band wanted someone who could help shape its future rather than simply replace a former member.
Skinner, who previously collaborated with the band in 2023, described “Paint It Red” as a song about embracing change, tearing down what no longer serves you, and having the courage to rebuild from scratch. The article also recaps Bad Wolves’ recent lineup changes, including the departures of vocalist Daniel “DL” Laskiewicz, guitarist Doc Coyle, and bassist Kyle Konkiel, and notes that the current lineup consists of Boecklin, Skinner, guitarist AJ Rebollo, and bassist Derek Bolman. Skinner also revealed that the band is working on plans for a new tour.
