Middle Tennessee is finally getting its first Wawa. Prepare for absolute havoc at the gas pumps.
The beloved convenience store chain (aka the holy land of late-night snacks, coffee, and hoagies that people on the East Coast won’t shut up about) is opening its first Tennessee location in Clarksville on June 18th. According to WSMV, the store is part of Wawa’s massive expansion plan that includes seven Tennessee locations this year and eventually up to 50 stores across the state over the next decade. Each location reportedly costs around $7.5 million to build and is expected to create dozens of jobs, which is cool and all, but the real question is: how long are we all gonna be sitting in line just to see what the hype is about?
At this point, Wawa has basically become a personality trait for transplants and road trip people. So yes, Middle Tennessee is about to experience its first “I just went in for gas and somehow left with a sandwich, iced coffee, and emotional support snacks” moment. And honestly… we get it. iykyk.
