It’s not completely rare for a commercial aircraft to occasionally have to turn around because of a mechanical issue or a bird strike or a weird noise or something, but it’s not everyday that it’s because of hitting a coyote! That’s what happened to a Jet Blue flight as it was taking off from Providence. Everyone heard the thump while the plane was taking off and then they had to circle back and land to make sure everything was ok.
