Tool is apparently deep in talks with the folks running the Las Vegas Sphere about doing a residency there after their next album drops, which they’re aiming to release around 2027. Drummer Danny Carey straight-up called Tool a perfect fit for the massive immersive venue, where visuals and sound go absolutely next-level, and confirmed the band has been chatting with Sphere people about making it happen. These shows wouldn’t be cheap or simple to put together… Carey says prepping for something like that is “pretty intense” and you’d need a bunch of shows before it turns a profit, but the idea is on the table. If it comes together, Tool could become one of the few rock/metal acts to take over that gigantic LED-wrapped stage in Sin City, potentially joining other heavyweight residencies down the Strip.
