A sad little snack plate of crackers and grapes went viral after the 2026 Critics Choice Awards, and Stellan Skarsgård made sure everyone knew it personally offended him.
Recently, a reporter asked Skarsgård about a photo of Elle Fanning and a group of other young women taking selfies while he appeared to be focused on his food. As the reporter was suggesting he was “enjoying” the food, the 74-year-old actor immediately corrected them with the energy of a man betrayed by catering, firmly repeating that he was “very disappointed in the food.”
Folks, of course, have been loving that he tripled down on his grumpiness, calling it refreshing, valid, and honestly, a bit heroic. It’s not like the celebrities in attendance can’t afford better food but if you’re going invite them all to sit through hours of an awards show, you should probably serve more than what looks like a hotel minibar’s leftovers.
