Jane’s Addiction members Dave Navarro, Eric Avery, and Stephen Perkins are suing lead singer Perry Farrell for $10 million after an onstage altercation in September 2024 disrupted their North American tour and derailed their plans for a new album. The group alleges that the tour cancellation and resulting suspension of all band activities caused significant financial losses. Navarro is also suing Farrell for assault and battery over the incident, when Farrell punched the guitarist during a concert in Boston. The complaint – filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court – accuses Farrell of intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligence, breach of fiduciary duty, and breach of contract. Following the incident, the band released a joint statement: “Due to a continuing pattern of behavior and the mental health difficulties of our singer Perry Farrell, we have come to the conclusion that we have no choice but to discontinue the current US tour.” Farrell later apologized for his actions, while expressing regret toward his bandmates and fans.
