At 83 years old, Bobbi Oxford decided she was done with the slow lane and go full-throttle towards her dreams. After growing up watching her brother race at their local track and missing her one chance at a “Powerpuff Derby”, Oxford was always itching to get behind the wheel of a racecar.
Well, she got in touch with AARP affiliate, “Wish of a Lifetime” which is a program like “Make a Wish” but for adults, and was able to get in the driver’s seat of a NASCAR-type car and make a few laps at Pikes Peak International Raceway.
She hit 90 mph like it was no big deal, leaving us all inspired to never underestimate a grandma with a bucket list and a lead foot.
