Phones down, Tennessee. They’re cracking down on distracted driving as of January 1st, 2024.
A new law reportedly just went into effect that will increase the number of points charged for distracted driving citations.
The new law is stricter for those under the age of 18. According to FOX 17, drivers under the age of 18 will get seven points for a second offense, which is enough to have their license suspended for up to a year.
For those 18 and older, they will get four points for a first offense and five points for a second offense. They can also face a class C misdemeanor with up to a $50 fine.
