“You’ll shoot your eye out, kid!”
If you’re ringing in the new year by popping a champagne bottle, then watch the cork, because they can actually cause you to go blind!?
A new study shows that when you pop the cork out of a champagne bottle, it can reach nearly 50 miles per hour, posing a potential risk of blindness if it’s aimed at somebody’s eye. The pressure can propel a cork up to 42 feet in the air.
If you’re opening a bottle before the champagne toast, aim it away from you friends! Read more of the study HERE.
