There are certain bands that when they go away for awhile, you notice their absence in such a way it just feels like something is missing in life without them. That’s exactly how I felt these past few years when one of my favorite bands, The Wans, took some time away and worked on different projects. Not to say I didn’t love the other projects they worked on, frontman Simon Patrick Kerr’s 2018 record Doldrums was incredible and was a constant on my radio show. There’s just something about a band coming together to make a sound that no other group of people can make, and The Wans have officially returned with that just for us. On Friday they dropped the record Magical Touch and the title speaks for itself. The album is packed with 11 songs that pick up right where the band left off a few years back. When I listen to this record it feels like the boys never left, if anything they just took some extra time to create the perfect album and after listening to it at least 17 times front to back since last night, I have to agree it is perfect. It’s hard to pick a favorite song of the album but for me, “Like The Way You Used To” is a standout track that captures the sound of the band in this moment perfectly. A band that’s moving on from the past and found their way on their own terms, and for that I am thankful because rock n roll needs The Wans. Now do yourself a favor and go turn this one up NOW.

What's the WORST part of going to a concert in Nashville now?
Parking costs more than the ticket
Waiting 45 minutes for an Uber that smells like weed
Post-show traffic that somehow still exists at 11pm on a Tuesday
The “convenience fee” being more inconvenient than convenient
Trying to leave Bridgestone with 18,000 other people at once
Voting Ends: Never
