When I think of artists with a distinct sound and style, who have always made music on their own terms, very few have done it as well as Jace Everett. The second you hear his voice you know it’s him and what you’re in for. I’ve been a fan of his since 2007 or so and every release he has put out always seems to top the last. On Friday he dropped his latest single, “Dance With Me” and it’s been on repeat at my place ever since. This song takes me back in a lot of ways, but mainly I remember hearing it back in late 2019 when he was doing a short lived (thanks to the events that will remain nameless of 2020 and 2021) residency at The OG Basement. I remember hearing this song and being stoked on it’s release, so I’m glad it’s finally seeing the light of day. In all honesty, the music industry needs way more artists like Jace. Artists that refuse to play by the rules and in the end just make their own. Now do yourself a favor and turn this one up NOW.
