I rarely post about full albums on this blog but after spinning BadCulture’s “Live At Exit/In” for the last 24 hours straight I just couldn’t help myself. I’m such a fan of this band. I feel like every single they release tops the one before and they always leave me guessing what they’re gonna do next. To be honest a live album was the last thing I expected them to release but when I heard they were releasing one, and it was recorded at the legendary Exit/In, I was stoked to say the least.
Live albums can be tricky. I often feel like the only way a live album works is when you’re capturing a band in a moment, and usually that moment needs to be early on so you can still hear the honesty and rawness in the performance. That’s exactly what “Live At Exit/In” does for BadCulture, it captures them in the moment, the mere moment before the rest of the world catches on to what we already know. This band is gonna be massive and I look forward to the “Live At Nissan Stadium” live album in a few years. Now do yourself a favor and turn this one up NOW.
