Music like many of the arts is subjective. My taste(although better) maybe different than yours. These are just a few of the songs I couldn’t get enough of in 2021. In no specific order, just a random top 10.
- Halestorm kicked off their concert at Bridgestone arena with this song and it was a great way to kick off any concert. This song rocks! Halestorm-“Back from the Dead”
2. From the same concert at Bridgestone Evanescence dropped this song this year. It’s catchy and shows they haven’t lost their stride.
Evanescence-“Better Without You”
3. Papa Roach has been releasing some really cool music recently! “The Ending,” “Swerve,” and most recently “Kill The Noise.” I love all of these songs. This one is a song I just couldn’t get enough of this year. Papa Roach’s “Kill The Noise.”
4. A couple of years ago Nathaniel Rateliff and The Night Sweats broke out with SOB. Many thought they could have been a “One and Done.” This is not only one of my favorite songs of 2021, but that this band has ever released. Nathaniel Rateliff and The Night Sweats “Survivor”
5. Here is another band that was just in town at Brooklyn Bowl. They released a few songs this year including “Infected,” but this one topped it in my opinion. It just sounds cool and has a really catchy hook. This is Starset “Echo.”
6. Milky Chance dropped their 1st single in 2013. 8 years later it doesn’t sound like this German duo is slowing down at all. Dieses lied ist cool.
Milky Chance “Colorado”
7. Hayley has played a few songs from these guys on “Badass or Buzzkill.” These guys are not new(they formed in 2004 in England),but to most of us they are new to us. “Animals” was another great song they released recently, but Architects “Dead Butterflies” gets my vote for one of my Top 10 Songs of 2021.
8. Asking Alexandria might be one of those bands that has never released a single I didn’t like. I just love their sound and energy in their songs. Here’s of the songs I couldn’t get enough of this year. Asking Alexandria “Alone Again.”
9. I was able to see Jack White a few years ago at Bridgestone and I’m looking forward to seeing him again next year. Really digging this song from our local rocker(he lives here so I consider him local). Jack White-“Taking Me Back”
10. Lumineers have released some great songs like “Ho Hey” and “Ophelia” just to name a few, but I think this might be the best song they have ever released. Lumineers “Brightside”

Brightside by The Lumineers is one of the best songs I heard in awhile
