Wanna get in the mood, but don’t want to hear about someone’s nuts roasting or about Santa being a baby or that awful song from Maria Carey? Seriously cracks me up when billionaires say “I don’t want anything.” Yeah, cause you have the money to buy everything! Its a lot easier not to want when you have unlimited. Anywho…got off course. Here’s my favorite rock songs with a Christmas spin.
I never had a chance to see this song in concert and now Lexxi is no longer with the band. Here’s hoping he stuffing plenty of stockings with his new band!
PsychoStick is an underrated band. They have some great originals like “Beer!” and “Obey The Beard.” They hit a home-run a few years ago when they did a parody of “Dragula.” I give you “Zombie Claus.”
Oh! And here’s another great Christmas parody from PsychoStick. “BYOB” lends itself so well to a parody. Fa-la-la-la. Dig “N.O.E.L.”
Did you know in England they call Santa Claus “Father Christmas?!” We are similar yet so different aren’t we?! Here’s a classic rock Christmas song from The Kinks “Father Christmas.”
Not all families are functional. Some don’t even pretend to be. Dropkick Murphy’s put out a great, honest, and hilarious Christmas song about their dysfunctional family.
I’m not a fan of Christmas cover songs, but these Small Town Titans really hit it out of the park. It keeps the original feel, but gives it a dark sinister and modern vibe. The next time someone remakes the movie(and you know they will)they need to include this 2018 cover that reached #2 on the iTunes Rock charts.
“The Darkness” helped us to believe in a thing called Love. Can they help us believe in the spirit of Christmas. Listen and I think you’ll agree….yes they can!
Trans Siberian Orchestra not only sounds like a rock band. They are rockers! Started by Jon Oliva and Al Pitrelli who were both members of Savatage. They are a staple for Christmas rockers and especially people who want to put on rocking Christmas light shows.
