My Saturday night list of the 5 songs that have been rocking me all weekend long. Turn them up and rock along with me, LOUD.
-Andy
Soul Asylum- “Stand Up And Be Strong”
Originally released in 2006, Soul Asylum announced the release of their “Stand Up And Be Strong” EP coming out this coming Friday. This song has a special place in my heart as my band were out doing shows with them when this song was released so maybe it’s a bit nostalgic for me, but more than anything I’ve always found it to be an underrated Soul Asylum hit. The Ep will also feature a live version of “Misery” from their 2006 era and that alone is enough reason to be excited about the EP. The band is back on tour to celebrate the release and I am PUMPED.
The Dead Deads- “First Tooth”
The Dead Deads are unstoppable these days. They kicked into 2021 ready to take no prisoners and that’s exactly what they’ve managed to do thus far. They released “First Tooth” on Friday and it’s already one of my favorite songs of the year. The Dead Deads never seem to repeat themselves when it comes to songs and I’ve always admired that about them. This latest song is a true example of that and I suggest you turn this one up LOUD.
Eve 6- ” I Wanna Bite Your Face”
Eve 6 got a lot of attention last year when singer Max Collins decided he was going to basically take over Twitter and make it his own. It’s been amazing to watch and Collin’s sense of humor is savage and that’s my favorite thing about it. With so much attention for his tweets, I feel like the band was more under the microscope than ever with new music coming out. Sometimes people get attention for one thing and then new music comes out and doesn’t hold up to the hype. With Eve 6’s newest releases this year though, they have far past proven their music is better than ever. Their latest, “I Wanna Bite Your Face” continues the band blazing their own path musically and being unapologetically themselves. 2021 is the year of Eve 6, just be thankful you’re along for the ride.
Williams- “Hurt Someone”
Williams dropped “Hurt Someone” on Friday and it’s about to hit you in all the feels. Williams has quickly become one of my favorite artists to come outta Nashville. Her sound changes every song she puts out and it’s impossible to really pin point her in one specific genre. That’s honestly one of my favorite things about her, making the kinda music she wants to make and offering to take us along for the ride with her if we choose to do so. I say do it. This song is rad.
Transylvania Stud- “Loud Love”
Transylvania Stud released a RAD version of Soundgarden’s “Loud Love” and your weekend just got 1000x better hearing it. I’ve often said I truly feel Andrew Godfrey is a musical genius and I still stand by that statement. Whether it’s his original music or a rad cover like this, he somehow always makes it his own and makes you forget there ever even WAS an original version of the song he’s covering. Turn this one up LOUDx2.
