My Saturday night list of the songs that have been rocking all weekend long. Turn them up and rock along with me, LOUD.

Lifehouse- Cut & Run
I’ve always thought Lifehouse never got the credit they deserve for being a band who has had countless hits, sustained 2 decades as a band, and are always evolving into something new but still remaining true to who they are. Their latest single, “Cut & Run” is a true testament to exactly that. The great Gord Downie of The Tragically Hip once said “Avoid trends and clichés, don’t try to be up to date” and when I think of that statement, Lifehouse are absolutely a band that lives by that. Music on their own terms while the world watches on. Love it.
Rock Eupora- Gotta Get It
I remember a time when I had Rock Eupora on my radio show and they showed up FULL BAND with all their gear, drums n all, and rocked live in the studio. I knew then they were something special. I’ve watched them over the years continually touring and putting out amazing music and growing all along the way. Their latest single, “Gotta Get It” has been in my head all weekend long. I would never do a “next big thing Nashville” countdown because that would be super lame, but IF I did, I’d say Rock Eupora would be on that list 100%.
Ashland- In Your Head
Ashland has been killing 2021 so far with new releases that hit hard and stick around in your head all day and night. Their latest, “In Your Head” is a true testament to a band that came out of 2020 hitting the ground running and running hard. The momentum is one thing, but to have the songs to back it up is another, and Ashland have both. There’s a lot of emotion in their music and they are channeling it all in the best possible way. 2021 is the year of Ashland and I will die on this hill.
Mark Mulcahy- Cookie Jar (Live at The Red Room)
Miracle Legion are one of my top 5 favorite bands of all time. I have always thought Mark Mulcahy’s songwriting and voice are so unique and real. Growing up loving his band, it was tough to find music of theirs (pre-internet) so I absolutely LOVE all the live records of Miracle Legion and now his solo stuff he’s been putting out. Ever so often an artist comes along that is important, just important, and Mark is truly one of those. I’m thankful I’m lucky enough to be alive on this planet at the same time as him, I know that sounds dramatic but it is the absolute truth.
Sleep Nation- Headlights
I remember a few years ago I had heard Sleep Nation had broken up and to say I was bummed would be the understatement of the year. They have been favorites on my show and guests many times as well. Luckily it was JUST a rumor and they dropped their latest single, “Headlights” on Friday. A lot of bands are slowly getting things going again after the hiatus that was 2020 and I’m starting to really see who sat around and who kept busy waiting for the world to come back. Sleep Nation are the latter for sure, it’s a new year and this band is back with a vengeance.
