Gary Miller/Getty ImagesSkillet frontman John Cooper is calling Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion‘s Grammy performance of their song “WAP” “evil,” and is even comparing positive reaction to the performance to speeches made by Adolf Hitler.
In his podcast Cooper Stuff, Cooper laments that “there are certain Dr. Seuss books that you cannot sell on eBay,” but that “you can, and must, applaud the sexual degradation of Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion simulating sex together on the Grammys.”
“You must celebrate it, and in fact, if you don’t celebrate it, then you’re actually a bad person,” he continues.
What Cooper doesn’t mention that it was, in fact, Dr. Seuss Enterprises itself that pulled six of the late author’s books due to insensitive imagery. He then goes on to quote a line from the Bible — “Woe to those that call evil good, and good evil” — before making his next point.
“Every dictator in history says that what they were doing was good, that’s what they believe,” Cooper says. “You go back and you read some of Hitler’s speeches, he’s like, ‘I’m gonna set people free! Free from the bondage of the Ten Commandments!’ In his mind, he’s a liberator.”
“It’s always like that,” he adds. “All you do is you just redefine evil, and you redefine good. That’s what’s happening right now.”
Cooper goes on to say that Madonna‘s similarly provocative performances were purposefully immoral, because she was rebelling against societal values. But now, he claims, society is being “forced” to recognize Cardi and Meg’s performances as “morality.”
“A society that is forced to applaud immorality and call it morality, because of the forces of intersectionality, that’s a society that is going to bring the judgement of God,” he says.
