FEVER 333 is out with the video for the title track of their EP WRONG GENERATION and like just about everything else these days, it features Travis Barker on drums.
Specifically, the clip is set in a claustrophobic and dark hotel room, where frontman Jason Aalon Butler messes with a small TV, bounces off the walls and screams the song’s fiery lyrics as Barker keeps the beat on a drum kit.
Barker’s involvement makes sense, since “WRONG GENERATION” is based on a sample of the drummer’s 2010 collaborative single “Carry It,” featuring Raekwon, RZA and Tom Morello.
And if the setting of the video looks familiar, it’s because it’s a direct reference to the video for Blur‘s 1997 hit “Song 2” — you know, the “Woo Hoo” song.
Speaking about the video’s concept, Butler tells Revolver, “We were hoping to make a video that offered a similar energy and excitement to the live element of this Fever 333 project. I also wanted to give a nod to ‘Song 2,’ one of the coolest music videos ever made. Put these vibes together and we ended up with this.”
WRONG GENERATION was released this past October. Butler wrote the project after spending 13 days last year marching to protest the death of George Floyd.
