My Saturday night ritual of blasting the tunes that have rocked me all week long. Rock along with me and blast them LOUD.

Jax Hollow- “Say My Name”
Jax Hollow hit the ground running a few months ago with her debut single “High Class Bitch”, and I instantly became a fan of her unique brand of rock n roll. Her latest single, “Say My Name”, has the blues guitar rock edge we’ve grown to know and love about Hollow but with a punk metal edge this time around. I knew it was only a matter of time before her drummer, Angela Lese (The Dead Deads, Taco Mouth, and one of the greatest drummers in Nashville) would let her punk background run wild into Jax Hollow and the sound is a mix of styles all it’s own. The song is a call to action for musicians to keep going through these crazy and uncertain times and the message is well said. 2021 is the year of Jax Hollow and I will die on this hill.
Dreamers- “Still Not Dead”
I used to always say during my touring years as a drummer in another life, that when my band ended up on the same stage at a festival as Dreamers, we were doing something right. There’s just something about a band that makes it’s own style of music and is unapologetic about it. Watching Dreamers grow these past couple of years has made me proud to have been a fan since the beginning. Their latest single, “Still Not Dead” is a testament to a band making music on their own terms and they’re in it for the long haul. A “career band” they used to call it back in the day, and one hell of a career it’s been this far.
Drift Away- “Forgive Me”
When I first discovered Drift Away, I was immediately surprised at how young these dudes are, and I was also mad at my younger self for not being this good when I was their age. They blend a unique brand of rock that reminds me of everything I love about the late 70s and mid 90s but it still sounds current and new to me. Their latest single, “Forgive Me” is the sound of a band growing as musicians and writers and you can really hear that in the song. I also have to say it’s rad to see the band growing so quickly and still having so much time in front of them. If this band keeps up this momentum, and they show no signs of slowing down, it’s only a matter of time before they are all over the place.
Aaron Lee Tasjan- “Don’t Overthink It”
Once upon a time Aaron Lee Tasjan and I met on the road as two young aspiring rock n rollers. I remember one night he gave me his solo CD, he was in Semi Precious Weapons at the time, and I was blown away at how unique his solo stuff was. I remember talking to my bandmates as we played it in the van on a long drive and just knowing this dude was going to be huge all on his own. His latest single, “Don’t Overthink It” is Aaron Lee Tasjan playing by his own rules and I am here for it. Very rarely does an artist invent their own sound, and Aaron Lee Tasjan is one of those artists. The music video below for the song solidifies my belief that it’s Tasjan’s universe, we are just lucky enough to reside in it along side him.
Jet Black Alley Cat- “Paralyzed”
Last year Jet Black Alley Cat broke all our hearts when they announced they were calling it quits as a band (hopefully not for good), HOWEVER they announced a series of singles to be released this year before they ride off into the sunset and call it a day. Their latest single, “Paralyzed” is everything we love about JBAC. It has a vibe musically and lyrically that only these boys can create. The band have been regular guests on my Local Buzz show throughout the years and they are the number one band people ask me about. They always ask “Is Jet Black the real deal or is it an act?” and the answer has always been the same, Jet Black Alley Cat invented the deal. God damn I’m gonna miss this band.
