NBCUniversalJack White will be the musical guest on this weekend’s Saturday Night Live in place of Morgan Wallen, who was disinvited from the show after footage spread on social media of the country star partying among crowds without wearing a mask.
SNL creator Lorne Michaels revealed the news about White Friday during an interview on Today.
“I know Jack White is coming in,” Michaels said, adding cryptically that the show might feature “some other stuff” as well.
White has played SNL three times before: twice solo, and once with The White Stripes.
“He’s always good on the show,” Michaels said of White.
There’s no word on what White will be playing during the episode, but a new White Stripes greatest hits compilation is being released in December, so perhaps we’ll be getting performances of a couple classic Stripes tunes.
Comedian Bill Burr will host the episode.
