My vinyl collection has gotten pretty big over the past few years, and I’m apparently not alone! For a lot of us, vinyl albums have always been a thing, and we never really stopped buying them… but now they’re one of the more popular ways to consume music again!
CNN says,
Vinyl records accounted for $232.1 million of music sales in the first half of the year, compared to CDs, which brought in only $129.9 million, according to a report from the Recording Industry Association of America.
In the first half of 2020, vinyl revenue was up 4%, while CD revenue was down 48%, according to the RIAA.
Although vinyl sales are up when it comes to physically owning albums, streaming is another huge way to consume music. CNN has more of the story HERE.
