It’s obvious who had the best goal of the season so far, and now we can make it official!!
Remember Pekka Rinne’s empty net goal from January 9th? That baby just won a fan voted award for Best Goal. Because how could it not?!
Pekka told NHL.com after his goal,
“For sure [it’s a dream come true], I’m not going to lie. I understand it might be a once-in-a-lifetime thing, so I really enjoyed it. It was an awesome feeling seeing the puck go in… But I’m trying to see it and then [Roman Josi] and [Nick] Bonino, I think they were going nuts, and it was pretty cool. I just threw my hands up in the air and tried to try to act as cool as I can.”
I remember watching the notifications come in on my phone during the game that night. I thought it was some sort of weird typo or misinformation when I saw that Pekka scored. It was awesome!!!!
