BUSTED. They got busted.
In case you’re not familiar, two dudes from Tennessee wanted to make a profit off of over 17,000 bottles of hand sanitizer that they stocked up on earlier during the pandemic. You can read more about it HERE.
The damage? A settlement has been reached on price gouging.
According to FOX 17, the Attorney General said:
“Disrupting necessary supplies during an unprecedented pandemic is a serious offense. It became clear during our investigation that the Colvins realized this, and their prompt cooperation and donation led to an outcome that actually benefited some consumers.”
FOX 17 also said:
As part of the settlement, the Colvins are prohibited from selling emergency or medical supplies in excess of the price generally charged during any declared state of abnormal economic disruption. Authorities said those supplies include, but are not limited to prescription and nonprescription medications, bandages, gauze, isopropyl alcohol, and antibacterial products, water, flashlights, radios, batteries, candles, blankets, soap, diapers, temporary shelters, tape, toiletries, plywood, nails, and hammers.
