Frontman Tyler Joseph revealed Sunday night that a new TOP tune was in the works. “Always writing, but this one feels like it should just come out now,” he tweeted.
Joseph added that the song was the first one he’s ever written on an electric guitar.
“I think it’s simple but hopeful,” he said.
As for when you’ll get to hear the track, Joseph said he needed a “few days” to “finish it up.”
“A good rule of thumb is to never give yourself a deadline so tweeting about it kind of just added pressure,” he explained. “It’s not done yet.”
When the song does come out, though, Joseph said he’ll be donating at least a portion to the proceeds to Crew Nation, which is raising money for crew members in the music industry who’ve been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“No one knows when live music will get back on its feet,” Joseph writes. “I’ve met so many amazing people working venues and touring with bands. Hopefully we can do something to help some through this song.”
