The vocalist’s personal trainer Andres Fajardo posted several videos on his Instagram demonstrating de la Rocha’s workout routine, including flipping tires, pulling weights and exercising with those battle ropes that athletes use in seemingly every fitness commercial.
“It’s been a surreal experience to train Zack de la Rocha for the past 3+ years,” Fajardo writes in one post. “Now for the past 3 months we’ve been training to get him right for shows and getting back on stage with #rageagainstthemachine.”
“We are training to take on a host of shows coming up starting at the end of March!” Fajardo adds in another post. “Making sure the body can take it on and continue to impact the world and give the people great performances!”
Rage Against the Machine announced last fall that they’d be reuniting to play shows in 2020 for the first time since 2011. The group’s first official show back takes place March 26 in El Paso, Texas. They’re also playing Coachella, Firefly and Boston Calling.
